We asked diners to dish about Sei (444 Seventh St., NW; 202-783-7007), the recently opened Asian-fusion restaurant from the owners of Oya, in DC’s Penn Quarter. Diners gave us the lowdown on the chic all-white decor and creative concoctions such as wasabi guacamole and a fish-and-chips sushi roll.

I ate there recently as well and agree about the service, but that fish and chips roll is magnificent.

I ate there a week or so ago even though I don’t eat sushi really. The drinks were good (if you like fruity drinks with creative names like the Hello Kitty), the wasabi guacamole was good--not too spicey--the salad was delish and the pork something-or-others looked awesome.
The waitress offered us the wasabi guacamole since our food was taking long (which we thought was a nice, free gesture), but it turned out it wasn’t for free. She was kind of pushy through out the night. Otherwise, the atmosphere is pretty cool.
It was quite pricey though.
