We checked out Clarendon’s packed new restaurant, Eventide (3165 Wilson Blvd., Arlington; 703-276-3165), and asked diners what they thought of the food (everything from lamb shank to lobster tagliatelle), the brick-walled space, and the roof deck. As one diner said of the romantic vibe, “I should have come here with my beautiful girlfriend.” Watch the video below.

Loved Eventide - suggest noting the dates on the comments; all new restaurants take a little time to adjust and tweak...
We went to the lounge on a Friday night at 7:30p. for appetizers and signature cocktails - Porch Swing and a custom drink made for my husband by the bartender. All were excellent, service at our table as well as directly at the bar was fantastic - friendly, amazingly attentive, and accurate - and this is while the place was full of people having a good time - as we were.
Dinner reservations were at 9:30p, dining room is beautiful, elegant, and private. Service was excellent, food was too: seafood with tagliatelle, scallops, malbec by the glass, dessert & coffee - no issue with timing/service for any of the courses. Really enjoyed the full experience.
Prices are very reasonable considering the innovative menu, quality of ingredients, surroundings, and the opportunity to have dinner just with those with whom you came - not with everyone else in Arlington.
We will definately to return to Eventide for brunch & to try the rooftop, and will definately return with colleagues/friends for cocktails and dinner.
Eventide is an excellent reason to drive to Arlington...or to walk to Wilson & Hudson if you’re lucky enough to live nearby.

So disappointing. Wanted to love it, even tried to like it. Horrible experience. Received another tables food, they removed it, and immediatly placed it at the other table. Bad, bad, bad........Food was horrible, to expensive, did not get a good meal, for what you apid for and wont be back. I was really disappointed. I won’t be going back even though it is near my house. There are much better options for the price, service and decor.

The food is fine, and the decor is very nice, but the service is horrendous and there are several glitches that someone expecting a fine dining experience would be astounded by. Recently with a group of 6 people, food was delivered to half our group only to be removed by the food runner and taken to the table behind us without any apology or mention of the error. Luckily no one had started to nosh because the restaurant certainly didn’t pay attention. The managers are defensive about criticisms and seek to prove you wrong rather than listen to a diner’s observations or suggestions. I agree with most that it is a disappointment and I won’t be back. Suggest if you want to check it out you stick to the ground floor bar or wait until the roof opens.

So disappointing. Wanted to love it, even tried to like it, but wont be back. Reading the other reviews, I think all of the "mediocre" food comments are too kind.

Food was mediocre. I got the bison carpaccio and was lookng forward to the ancho chili mole sauce, but it was just a dot on the plate. Bison was boring and tasteless.
Also, got a fish dish which tasted too fishy. Probably won’t go back until they fix some things and I read some really good reviews.

Great atmosphere and hopping bar scene, but the food in the dining room was just mediocre. Everything was bland. I was really disappointed. I won’t be going back even though it is right down the street. Wanted to like this place.

I think the girl with the brown hair is hot!

Who’s the loser chick with the brown hair who keeps shaking her head at the end? She clearly does not know what she is talking about.

My husband and I went there with a group of ten of our friends. The bar was packed, so we were thankful that we had a reservation. The dining room was gorgeous! And, the food was fantastic. Many of us has the awesome scallops appetizer. I had the lobster tagliatelle - perfect! My husband had the pork and he loved it too. The sommelier came to our table and made some great wine recommendations within out chosen price range. Can’t wait to go back!

Thought the place had some unique items on the menu. I got fish, and Im not the biggest fish fan, and I thought it was delicious. The bartender downstairs was very attentive, and aimed to please every customer in there. The tables are spread apart and you are not packed into a small dining room with many people. Very unique place.

the sunday brunch is phenomenal and all kinds of inexpensive.

This place is mediocre at best. Food isn’t seasoned as well as it should be. The decor is really what sets them apart, but more focus needs to be placed on the food. The rustic menu just seems out of place for Clarendon. You’re not going to score a lot of repeat visitors from the no-expense account crowd with those prices. 6.5/10.
