Video Feedback: Cork
By
Kate Nerenberg
Feedback—our feature where we ask you, the diner, for a restaurant critique on the street—is going video! Armed with a camera, we camped out in front of 14th Street wine bar Cork to see what customers thought of the mod-American small plates, the wine list, and those famously long waits.

Cork claims to be a wine bar but the list of red wines was underwhelming - we were looking for a full bodied red and the bottle we got was a disappointment. The food was unimpressive and we left with a bill that was way too high for what we felt we’d ordered.

Cork is snobbish. I was there with a group of 8 and they would not seat us even though we were drinking and eating. We arrived around 6:30, so there were plenty of empty tables. They wanted to know how much each person was eating. It was a bit ridiculous…

I just went to Cork and loved it as well! Wait service was great, climate was great, food was great. Where can I meet that interesting midwest couple talking about how fantastic it was!
