This week, we hit Mr. Yogato (1515 17th St., NW), DC's newest tart-style frozen yogurt shop in East Dupont. What did the weeknight crowds think of the flavors and topping selection? How'd they think it compares to Tangysweet across the circle and West Coast/NYC cult favorite Pinkberry? Will they be back for more quirky trivia questions and 20-percent-off forehead stamps?
Have you been to Mr. Yogato? We want to know what you thought! Leave your opinions in the comments.

I found the reviews by the three regulars extremely helpful, especially regarding the price. Sam, it’s about frozen yogurt. Chill dude.

I have tried yogurt from Pinkberry, Sweetgreen, Mr. Yogato and Tangy sweet. IMHO, I like Sweetgreen the best. It really is tangy and their fruit is high quality. Since you get 3 toppings included with the price, I think it ends up being cheaper than the competitors in the long run. Mr. Yogato is a sweet, trendy concept--but the portions are tiny and even the tangy is too sweet. Tangy sweet’s portions are chintzy too--especially for the price. The best part of MY is their extensive toppings, but for my money, I still think SG is the best!

One of the diners in the video mentions that he likes Pinkberry better than Mr. Yogato, so we thought we’d give it a shout-out in the poll and see if others agree.

um, we don’t have PinkBerry in D.C. So, why even list it?

Um, there’s an "Iceberry" in Reston and a "Yogi Berry" in Olney that also have tart yogurt, and have been around a lot longer. Why do places need to be in dupont to get attention?

Highly disappointed by Yogato. The yogurt is overly sweet--there’s barely any "tang" even in the original tangy flavor. The fruit was terrible--especially the papaya and the starfruit. Don’t they at least taste the fruits as they cut them up to make sure the stuff they are serving is edible?!!! I love Sweet Green and although their yogurt is pricey relative to Yogato it is totally worth it!!
