Skip Lunch, Feed a Bunch Tomorrow, September 17, the Skip Lunch Feed a Bunch campaign is asking community members to donate the equivalent of what they would normally spend on lunch to the Capital Area Food Bank. Every dollar raised can provide three meals to children, seniors, or families are at risk of hunger. Think about it this way: If you donate the $10 that usually goes toward your own lunch, you will be providing 30 meals. For more information or to donate, go to capitalareafoodbank.com.
Great American Dine Out Do your part to end childhood hunger by participating in the Great American Dine Out, September 21 through 28 across the country. All you have to do is eat at one of the restaurants taking part next week, and a portion of your check will go to Share Our Strength. Many area spots are participating, from casual places like BGR Burger Joint and Chop’t to more upscale eateries such as Rasika and Vidalia. Participating chains include Caribou Coffee, Corner Bakery, McCormick & Schmick’s, and Legal Sea Foods. To check out the complete list, make reservations, or donate money, visit strength.org.
