Splurge vs. Steal: Nature-Inspired Bowls

You’ll probably be attending a holiday party or two in the next two weeks. What better way to thank your host than by bringing a lovely gift for the home? These two bowls are fancy enough for your country-club pal or funky enough for your eco-friendly sister.
Splurge
Made of aluminum and painted gold, this gilded bowl from Pottery Barn looks like a soft tangle of twigs. Make sure to wrap it carefully—it’s delicate and meant only for decoration. The twig bowl ($64) is not available in stores but can be purchased online or ordered through the Pottery Barn catalog.
Steal
In case the holidays have trimmed your wallet faster than you can trim the tree, Target has a similar but less expensive gift option. This branch-inspired bowl ($24.99) is made of bronze brass and is hardy enough to double as a serving bowl. The metal branch bowl is available in some Target stores or online at Target.com.
Target has locations in Virginia, Maryland and DC.
