Furniture and design stores are preparing for a new season, and that’s good news for anybody who is looking to upgrade their home furnishings without going into debt. Your best bet is to check out a lot of different stores, because they are likely to each have a random pile of odds and ends that they are desperate to unload. At Brocade Home, the king terrace headboard falls into that category. Once priced at $899, it’s now going for the far more reasonable price of $399.
Restoration Hardware’s Geneva console table, which is almost 50 percent off, would work in practically any room. It’s now $369.99, and there is a matching side table on sale for $229.99.
The Hampton Coffee Table at Pottery Barn, which is both simple and distinctive, has been marked down from $995 to $479.99. I can see a game of Trivial Pursuit taking place around that table, which is a major factor in how I choose such things.
Dutch By Design, where I got my fabulous, fun chandelier two years ago, has revamped its Web site and is offering a 15 percent discount to celebrate. To get the deal, enter the code “newwebsite” at check out.
