Naked Décor, a new home-accessories label by award-winning DC graphic designer Supon Phornirunlit, recently launched a series of eye-catching pillows. Have a thing for Great Britain? The “Live Like a Queen” pillow shows the queen on one side and the Union Jack in orange, brown, and white on the other. The “London Bridge” design offers Brit enthusiasts a Union Jack on one side with the bridge on the other. Animal-themed pillows include one with half of a dachshund on the front and the other half on the back. There’s also “Oh, Deer,” with the head of a buck, and “Red Kitty Cat with Button Eyes.”
Naked Décor says the dachsund pillow has been a hot seller. Some people have bought two, putting one side of the dog on each end of the couch. You can also match your pillow with wall art—six designs have coordinating 12-inch-by-12-inch canvas wall hangings.
Phornirunlit started his first business, Supon Design Group, at 25 in a one-bedroom apartment in DC. He designed logos and products for a range of clients, including Discovery Communications, the US Open, IBM, and the International Spy Museum. In 2007, he launched Naked Décor, a home-accessories line that sells everything from pillows to bowls, clocks, and jewelry.
The $49.95-per-pillow price might be steep, but you can be pretty sure no one on your block will have the same one.
