More than 200 people have been forced from their homes after a fire destroyed an apartment building in DC’s Mount Pleasant neighborhood [DCist]

Bow ties aside, Anthony Williams may be hip after all: The former mayor just bought a luxury loft condominium on H Street worth more than $1 million. [WaPo]

Plans for luxury apartments, stores, and restaurants near downtown Bethesda have been scrapped due to a lack of support from county officials and homeowners. [WBJ via Live on the Red Line]

Following in the footsteps of NPR, the Department of Justice will be moving offices to DC’s NoMA neighborhood. The DoJ’s new location will be part of a mixed-use development that will include offices, apartments, retail space, and a high-end grocery store. The move is scheduled for 2010. [Frozen Tropics]

The Reston Town Center project is embroiled in controversy after it was discovered that undocumented workers were hired, then not compensated for their work. [Examiner via Restonian]

DC Metrocentric has pictures of the new building to be constructed next to the Martin Luther King library in the Penn Quarter area. Metrocentric worries that it’ll be a block killer. [DC Metrocentric]
