• A rowhouse in Columbia Heights was featured on HGTV’s Designed to Sell. The house was given a makeover by the program’s experts, who referred to the neighborhood as a “prime real-estate location.” [HGTV via PoP]
• A Staples will move into 425 Seventh Street, NW—a space once meant to be occupied by a Balducci’s grocery store. [Penn Quarter Living] Gaging from the comments, most area residents are less than excited about the news.
• The Bi-Rite Super Market building in Columbia Heights will be redeveloped for mixed use and will house a comfort-food restaurant by John Andrade, co-owner of Asylum in Adams Morgan. [DC mudd]
• Plans for the new Clarendon Center are moving along swiftly. The old building has been demolished, and construction on the center—which will include two office buildings, one tower of rental apartments, and ground floor retail—is set to begin by June. [DC Metrocentric]
• Developer JBG unveiled plans to build a ten-story, 316,000-square-foot mixed-use tower in Ballston. [Bisnow on Business]
