Overlooked: The Best Missed Connections of the Week

Every Friday, for some fun reading, we bring you the area’s best Missed Connections on Craigslist.

By Jessica Sidman   Published Friday, February 27, 2009

It turns out there’s a reason they call it the “check out” line. Grocery stores are a hot spot for people checking each other out. This week’s Missed Connections are all about picking up romance somewhere between the produce section and the meat counter. If they reconnect, we hope they’ll cook each other dinner.

You were the cute girl at the checkout and I was the guy with the dog bed and in need of a baseball cap Sunday midday. You initiated a nice brief chat about finding a dog bed for your dog. I kicked myself later for not being more chatty. Lets continue the chat at the dog park.

Only at Costco can you find puppy love in bulk.

I made you move over so I could grab some sandwich meat in front of you. Wish I had taken a little longer to decide what I wanted - you were cute. Coffee sometime?

You made him move over? That’s baloney.

Talked with you in express check out at Safeway on 17th Street. Me from Ireland and we shared a laugh about the guy with his pants around his knees. Should have asked you for your number. Fancy a drink?

Wait, why was there a guy with his pants around his knees?

to the woman who was clearly upset that they didn’t have all the flavors of her favorite brand of yogurt, thank you. you said it was the best yogurt ever and so i tried the only flavor they had and i must say, i agree. i hope to run into you again sometime.

The only thing we want to know is: what kind of yogurt was it?
