If you haven’t felt at least a little stressed over the past few months, you’re one of the lucky ones. And what could be better than a relaxing facial or massage when you need a time out? Fortunately, Spa Week 2009 begins today. It’s the one week of the year when salons and spas in multiple cities offer select treatments for just $50.
The promotion runs from Monday, April 13, to Sunday, April 19, and the treatments (some of which regularly cost as much as $300) range from Swedish massages and signature facials to microdermabrasion and laser hair removal. Register for free at spaweek.com to see a list of participating businesses in Washington.
What’s the catch? There isn’t one—but schedule an appointment quickly. You can also check the Spa Week blog (spaweekblog.com) to see which salons and spas have recently signed up and may have more openings.
Check out our spa database and our Great Day Spas package for more details, ratings, and location information for local spas as well as our list of great spas in the Washington area. More>> Shop Around Blog | Style | Find a Spa

Hello everyone,
My wife just gave birth to our first Son, baby Alexander, and I would love to treat her to a Spa. Since she just gave birth this past Sunday, is there a preferred spa/treatment?
I look forward to your suggestions.
Thank you
Jason

Booking early is a must.
I don’t know anyone who hasn’t been stressed over the last couple of days let alone last couple of months.
I’m feeling in need of a massage myself.
I think it’s great that this being organized across multiple cities.

Gone are the robust bureaus for the Los Angeles Times, Newhouse News, and other once-healthy news organizations. Digital media bureaus now are taking their places with as many reporters and plenty of swagger.

Worried about how you’re going to pull that Thanksgiving meal together by November 26? Luckily, there’s lots of ways to get a takeout turkey-day dinner so you don’t have to lift a finger in the kitchen. When ordering a turkey, keep in mind that a ten-to-12 pound turkey will feed four to six people.
