Where & When: Fashion Edition

Get the blues, grab your whites and go shopping at some great new stores.

Wednesday, May 21 and Thursday, May 22: Designer hotspot Urban Chic is offering 20 percent off all denim (except white) at their Georgtown location. Want help finding the perfect fit? Beth Hoeckel, the store's wardrobe stylist, will be in Georgetown on Thursday to offer help and suggestions.

Thursday, May 22: Arlington's chic Current Boutique, which stocks a great mix of fun new pieces and consignment items, is holding its first fashion show at 7pm on the second floor of Gua-Rapo (2039 Wilson Blvd.). Tapas and a cash bar start at 7pm; the show begins at 8pm.

Monday, May 26: It's Memorial Day! If you're holding any antiquated notions about when you're allowed to wear white, then the wait is over. Pull out that white dress and get summery!

Movers & Shoppers

District style: D.C. style blogger Morgan Hungerford (who we profiled last year) launched her newest web project on Monday—the online quarterly fashion publication Panda Head Magazine. Check it out for fantastic style features based around the emerging D.C. fashion scene.

Love at first scent: We're completely smitten with Indulge, a new Dupont Circle shop specializing in an amazing range of designer candles, which is quickly becoming our go-to spot for great gifts, fresh scents and more.

Perfectly prep-tastic
: If whale-emblazoned shorts are for you (ironically or not), here's good news: the New England prep-heavy clothier Vineyard Vines has finally arrived in Georgetown, and it's fully stocked with all kinds of Madras-related goodness.

Turn to the left
: U Street's stylish shopping destinations continue to creep eastward with the recent opening of upscale boutique Profile (at 11th Street). Look for edgy-chic labels like Corey Lynn Calter and John Varvatos for Converse in a stylish townhouse location.
