Tuesday, July 1: The store’s big sale kicked off Monday morning, but we’re betting there’s still plenty of bargain finds to be found at Sugar, which has reduced all its spring and summer clothing a whopping 40 percent. Someone save some Loeffler Randall for us!
In Adams Morgan, the sweet little boutique Shake Your Booty launches its annual mega-sale Tuesday as well. We stopped in just last week and gushed over its fun, colorful selection of clothing, sandals, bags, and jewelry.
Thursday, July 3: Did someone say Manolo Blahnik on sale? Cusp slashes prices up to 65 percent on select spring and summer merchandise today at both its Georgetown and Tysons outposts.
In the evening, the U Street showroom Dekka helps kick off “Independent’s Month” with a fashion show of local designers and shopping bazaar at the Columbia Heights bistro Rumberos.
Friday, July 4: Take a breather. Have a hot dog. Maybe watch some fireworks.
Saturday, July 5: It’s Urban Chic’s turn with the red pen. The store’s summer sale begins today, with items 40 to 60 percent off.

Gone are the robust bureaus for the Los Angeles Times, Newhouse News, and other once-healthy news organizations. Digital media bureaus now are taking their places with as many reporters and plenty of swagger.
