By Arla Shephard

Sunday, April 26: Papyrus bridal shows
This weekend, Papyrus stores across the country are participating in a spring bridal event, with local vendors offering advice to brides-to-be. The Georgetown Papyrus (1300 Wisconsin Ave., NW; 202-337-0720) is opening an hour early for its event, which will feature vendors including florist Ultra Violet and bridal boutique Hannelore’s of Old Town. Guests will receive coupons for custom-printed invitations: $50 off an order of $400 or more and $100 off an order of $800 or more. The Papyrus locations in Alexandria (721 King St.; 571-721-0070) and Tysons Corner (1961 Chain Bridge Rd., McLean; 703-893-5640) will also host their own bridal shows with local vendors. Award-winning makeup artist Isabella Bastien will make a special appearance at the Papyrus at Fair Oaks Mall (11750 Fair Oaks, Fairfax; 703-359-6810). All future brides are eligible to receive a complimentary bridal-makeup application (normally $200) from the artist, who has been featured in Italian Vogue, Modern Bride, InStyle, and more. Georgetown bridal show: free, 10 to 4; Isabella Bastien appearance: free, noon to 4.

Sunday, April 26: It’s All About You-Weddings bridal show
One mission of It’s All About You-Weddings is to alleviate as much stress as possible for couples preparing for their big day. This Sunday, the wedding-planning business is hoping to do just that by hosting a bridal show at the Lorien Hotel & Spa in Old Town. Get advice or find new, creative ideas while meeting local vendors. Preregister by e-mailing coordinator@itsallaboutyou-weddings.com. Free; 11 to 4.

Sunday, April 26: Stonewall Golf Club bridal show
Check out the beautiful Stonewall Golf Club at Lake Manassas (15601 Turtle Point Dr., Gainesville; 703-753-5101) this weekend at its second annual bridal show. Vendors will answer any burning questions a bride might have, and there’ll also be complimentary Champagne and hors d’oeuvres as well as giveaways. Free; 11 to 4.
