From roses to lilies, orchids to tulips, flowers bring more color to every occasion. Simple or contemporary? Bright or subtle? If you’ve got questions, Dale Harmon, special-event coordinator at Plants Alive!, has answers. In business more than 30 years, Plants Alive! (15710 Layhill Rd., Silver Spring; 301-598-3843) transforms all kinds of events into more vibrant occasions from its 6½-acre nursery. In Thursday’s live chat, Dale will take all your floral questions.
Dale, a fourth-generation Washingtonian, got his start in the plant business with a summer job in the rooftop garden center at the now-closed Sears in DC’s Tenleytown. A graduate of Marquette University, he has been in the “event landscaping” business almost 40 years. His first project was at the Four Seasons in Georgetown. Since then, he’s worked on everything from the Olympic Games in Atlanta to presidential inaugurations to weddings at the National Building Museum and Dumbarton House.
Submit questions now, and Dale will tackle them Thursday from 11 to noon.
