Where and When Bridal: What to Do This Weekend

Haven’t found that perfect look-at-me-shine wedding dress yet? Don’t fret—there are three trunk shows this weekend. Also, if you’re feeling especially motivated, you can check out a bridal showcase for a one-stop shop of wedding vendors.

Thursday, October 23, through Saturday, October 25: Angel Sanchez Trunk Show
Carine’s Bridal Atelier in Georgetown (1726 Wisconsin Ave., NW; 202-965-4696) is hosting a trunk show featuring Venezuelan designer Angel Sanchez. Known for gowns that are both classic and modern, Sanchez is offering a small selection of dresses from his recently debuted fall 2009 line as well as the complete spring 2009 collection. Brides who purchase a dress during the weekend will receive 10 percent off. By appointment only; appointments last one hour.

Friday, October 24, through Saturday, October 25: Oscar de la Renta Trunk Show

If the name Oscar de la Renta isn’t enough to get you excited (gasp!), perhaps 10 percent off one of the leading fashion designer’s gowns will do the trick. This trunk show, hosted by Hitched (1523 Wisconsin Ave., NW; 202-333-6162), will include de la Renta’s entire spring 2009 bridal collection and pieces from previous lines. The show is by appointment only, and we recommend that  you RSVP soon—the one-hour slots are filling up fast.

Friday, October 24, through Sunday, October 26: Monique Lhuillier Trunk Show
This trunk show at Hannelore’s (106 N. Lee St., Alexandria; 703-549-03870) will feature not only wedding gowns by Monique Lhuillier but also a trunk show of bridesmaid fashions by Melissa Sweet, Priscilla of Boston, and Vineyard Collection. Hannelore’s will have Champagne, a live model, and performances on a grand piano all day Saturday.

Sunday, October 26: Bridal Showcase
Twenty-six vendors will be at your service at the Kentlands Mansion Fall Bridal Showcase (320 Kent Square Rd., Gaithersburg; 301-258-6425), a daylong event with photographers, musicians, florists, hairstylists, makeup artists, hotel representatives, and catering companies. Door prizes will be given away throughout the day. Noon to 4; $5.
