With more than 100 films being shown at the AFI Silver Theatre as part of this year’s SilverDocs festival, you’d think Washington cinephiles would have their hands full. One problem: Many screenings are already sold out. In case you were one of the people upset about, say, The September Issue selling out so quickly (not that we’re projecting), we’ve gone ahead and compiled a list of other films being shown around town. We can’t promise great cinema, but we can almost guarantee no ticket lines.

Monday
Every Monday, the Arlington Cinema ’n’ Drafthouse screens three movies for just $1 each. Today, Monsters vs. Aliens shows at 4:30, Miley Cyrus’s The Hanna Montana Movie screens at 7:30, and the Paul Rudd and Jason Segel bromantic comedy, I Love You, Man, plays at 9:50.

The theme for Crystal City’s film festival, every Monday through September, is superheroes, and tonight the most super of all superheroes, Superman, makes an appearance. Superman 2 will be shown at sundown (around 8:35). Films are screened at the courtyard across from the Crystal City Metro station.

Tuesday
Why catch a documentary when you can watch a Filipino women’s wrestling film redubbed with hysterical English dialogue? Ferocious Female Freedom Fighters shows at the Warehouse at 8 as part of the Washington Psychotronic Film Society’s weekly series. The movie is free, but a $2 donation is suggested.

Wednesday
Win Wenders’s 1999 documentary, Buena Vista Social Club, about the famous band of Cuban musicians, shows at the free outdoor film festival in the NoMa neighborhood. Films are shown next to the New York Avenue Metro on L Street between Second and Third streets, Northeast, at 7. Music documentaries and feature films, such as Ray and Dig!, will be featured throughout the summer. For a complete schedule, click here.

Thursday
When tickets are gone at SilverDocs, who you gonna call? Ghostbusters! The 1984 comedy starring Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd will be shown at Tingey Plaza (100 Tingey St., NE) at sundown (around 8:45). The film is part of Capitol Riverfront’s ’80s film series.

Upgrade your usual Coke-and-popcorn combo to wine and seasonal-food samples at the FreshFarm Markets’ Local Foods Movie Night. On the screen at Georgetown’s Letelier Theater (3251 Prospect St., NW) will be Sustainable Table: What’s on Your Plate? and Nora!, a short documentary on Nora Pouillon, owner of the first certified organic restaurant in the United States, DC’s Restaurant Nora. Doors open at 6:15, and the screenings begin at 7. A $20 ticket, covering both films and food, can be purchased here.

Monster fans can attend the free screening of Godzilla vs. the Sea Monster at the Hirshhorn Museum’s Ring Auditorium. Film scholar David Wilt will be at hand to provide some commentary on the legendary silver-screen monster. 7 PM.

Friday
Labyrinth, starring Jennifer Connelly and David Bowie, screens as part of another ’80s-themed outdoor film festival—this one across the Potomac in Arlington. The Rosslyn Film Festival runs every Friday through September. Films are screened at Gateway Park near the Key Bridge. For a complete schedule and more information, click here.
