Why let Michelle Kwan have all the fun? It’s the season for frosted festivities at area ice rinks. Take a break from the holiday bustle to work on your triple axle, bundle up with a date, or bring the whole family to these indoor and outdoor ice-skating facilitates. Before you tie on your skates, make sure to call ahead because the hours are subject to change—at indoor rinks especially. We promise you don’t have to wear the sparkly Spandex skirt unless you really want to.

I love that rink in Glen Burnie too! My family went there last year and the staff were very helpful....they went out of their way to make sure my kids had the right skates, and even helped them skate backwards. We heard they opened in early November this year so we are looking forward to going back.

I go to skating all the time. I go to Glen Burnie Outdoor Ice Rink which is in Glen Burnie Town Center. For it being an outdoor rink it is amazing and such much fun. The people that work there are so nice and the ice is really good. Also, the prices are not high. It is $9.50 i think for an adult which is including rentals and u get to skate for 2 hours. I love it so if u are looking for somewhere where they are not really crowded and somewhere cheap then i suggest you go to Glen Burnie Outdoor Ice Rink. Its on Crain Highway.

To the first commentor...the Ice Rink at Harbor Point has been closed for several years. It’s a shame, because it was nice, and was very popular with visitors and locals alike.
For a great outdoor rink in Maryland, check out Glen Burnie Ice Rink. It’s located behind the Anne Arundel County courthouse and has free parking and a great family atmosphere...I love skating there, and they don’t seem to have the huge crowds that the DC rinks have.

If you like the small crowds...to work on skills... check out the rec center in mount vernon on a weeknight.
Also, fairfax has smaller crowds.
Kettler is more crowded.

I work a block away from Pershing Park and was told that the rink would be closed this year due to maintence issues. Might want to update your listing. The phone number is definitely out of service.

I skated at Reston Town Center last weekend and had the time of my life! Lots of nice people skating and the music was fitting for the surroundings. I left feeling young and in love. Thanks Reston!

I play hockey, so i know a few more around the area, but i think you touched on most of them. if you live out in ashburn, the ashburn ice house is a nice rink. Ft. dupont, in my opinion has the best ice around here, at least for playing hockey. Get out and Skate!
