Monday, August 25: Hello, Sweet Thing The cupcake craze continues ablaze with today’s opening of Dupont Circle’s Hello, Cupcake. With espresso drinks, wifi, and cupcake flavors like “Velvet Elvis,” “24 Carrot,” “Peanut Butter Blossom” and more, you can already count us amongst the store’s fans. Open from 10 AM to 7 PM today.
Tuesday, August 26: An All-Day Happy Hour Each Tuesday, Chef Geoff’s serves up one of our favorite happy hours that can’t be beat. Believe us. It’s a $5 bistro burger, with a heaping pile of crispy shoestring fries. Drinks? The dark-wood-paneled bar tosses out this heavenly thing called a Supermug: 34 ounces of beer for $7.95 from an excellent array of beers on tap.
Wednesday, August 27: A Young British Crooner (NOTE: THIS SHOW HAS BEEN CANCELED) Adele’s been burning up the charts in London—and for good reason. The sultry British chanteuse, at only 19 years of age, is one of the most soulful singers we’ve heard in a good long while. Check her out for yourself tonight when she plays the 9:30 Club. $20.
Thursday, August 28: Pop Culture Chat The Modernist Society, a monthly meeting at Bourbon where cheap drinks and stimulating conversation flow, hosts Whitney Matheson. She’s the writer at the popular pop culture blog, Pop Candy, and she’s sure to discuss everything from your favorite comic book movie adaptation to the upcoming fall television season. Plus: $3 drink specials all night! More>> After Hours Blog | Arts & Events | Happy Hour Finder | Calendar of Events
