New Condo Spotlight: The Floridian

These new condos near Howard University Hospital are housed in two eight-story stainless steel, glass, and limestone towers.

Where: 919 and 929 Florida Avenue, NW

Number of units: 118

Number sold: 65

Floor plans: There are seven different floor plans from studios to three-bedrooms, some with lofts.
 
Prices: Studios and lofts cost $229,000 to $350,000; one-bedrooms start at $329,000; two-bedrooms start at $366,000; two-bedrooms with a loft start at $595,000. The one remaining three-bedroom is $980,000.

In each unit: Hardwood floors and high ceilings. In the kitchens, there are granite counters and stainless-steel appliances. Bedrooms have walk-in closets.  

Building amenities: Garage parking is available for $40,000 a spot. There’s also a roof deck.

Closest Metro: The green and yellow line’s U Street metro stop is about two blocks away.

Special deals: All the units on the fourth floor and below are being offered at prices reduced by $75,000 to $150,000.

Expected completion: Done.

Tell me more about the $75,000 to $150,000 reduction. Is this being offered on the current $229,000 to $350,000; one-bedrooms start at $329,00? Or was that off the previously overpriced and unrealistic offer? Patiently await your response! Thx

BTW, I agree with U streeter’s comment. But if a 1 bdrm 820 sq ft with parking can be had for $250,000 it might provide some slight consideration on my part.

this condo really is in the most awful area. I’m not sure why anyone would want to live here.

it’s a dodgy walk from the U street metro.
