• Bisnow visited the Rosslyn site where the tallest building in the Washington area will soon stand. Check out pictures of the ten-story building that is slowly coming down to make room for the new skyscraper, which will stand 470 feet above the Potomac.  [Bisnow]

• The Montgomery County Planning Board approved the Falkland Chase Apartments redevelopment project, which will replace part of a garden-style apartment complex in Silver Spring with new apartments, retail space, and a Harris Teeter grocery store. [WBJ]

• A public hearing has been set after residents in the H Street corridor opposed a plan to build a gas station there. [Examiner via Frozen Tropics]


• The Smithsonian Museum of American History will reopen this November with a new look. DC Metrocentric has a rendering of the new building. [DCMetrocentric]

• Plans for the redevelopment of the Tenley-Friendship Library and Janney Elementary continue to spark tension between the DC government and parents and neighbors. [DCmud]
