Inauguration Aggregation

Welcome to your daily dose of inauguration news! Here are the headlines we're reading this morning.

Having a hard time renting your space for the inauguration? Try advertising in The Washingtonian's Inauguration Rentals section in the upcoming January issue of the magazine, on newsstands later this month. The cost is $110 for 18 words, plus $6 per additional word. Ads should be e-mailed to marketplace@washingtonian.com.

Good news if you're planning to brave the crowds near the Capitol on Inauguration Day. The Washington Post is reporting that space on the National Mall between Seventh and 15th streets, Northwest—used in previous inaugurations to stage the parade—will be open to the public. It will free up room for an estimated one million people.

This morning, we told you lots of juicy details about singer Dionne Warwick's inaugural bash at the Marriott Wardman Park. But now we're hearing news of another superstar coming to down: Oprah. She'll be broadcasting her show from the Opera House at the Kennedy Center during the inauguration week.

Which local bands might march in the inaugural parade? Sources tell the Washington Informer that Howard University, Ballou, Cardozo, and Eastern Senior High School are at the top of the list.
