There’s something romantic about the rain. Whether you’re using it as a conversation starter or an excuse to share an umbrella, this week’s Missed Connections prove there’s some cheer in this dreary weather.
Gave you my umbrella (Silver spring) Reply to: pers-snzph-1196136292@craigslist.org Date: 2009-05-30, 12:47AM EDT
It was about 3pm and it had just started to rain. I was on my way home and saw you waiting for the bus. You were soaking in the rain as the rain drops danced on your hair. You wiped them off with an ease that masked the beauty of the moment. I could not take it anymore. I turned around, popped the trunk, and gave you the only umbrella I had. I apologized that it was broken, you said it didn’t matter. I got in my car and drove away, now I can’t drive the memory of it all away. If you get this message, I will love to see you again, if only once. If you never get this message, I think you are the most beautiful thing I ever saw in the rain.
Give this guy a movie deal. And a new umbrella.

You: lovely tall blonde updating her resume (on a nice MacBook).
Me: Tall, dark-haired guy sitting next to you. We chatted about the possibility of rain, the removal of GWB stickers, and the need for buzzwords in your resume.
I should have asked this while I was there, but would you like to get coffee sometime?
If it wasn’t for the weather, they might never have started a conversation.

We passed each other in the crosswalk. You looked like you had been caught in the rain and kind of got a kick out of it. Not too mention you have a cute smile.
At least someone is enjoying the weather!

Any other details? A lot of us were caught in the rain yesterday...
Hey! Don’t rain on his parade.
Kasper under my umbrella in Dupont - w4m (Dupont Circle bus stop) Reply to: pers-gbdxx-1204370225@craigslist.org Date: 2009-06-03, 10:43PM EDT
You stood under my umbrella waiting for the bus just north of Dupont Circle on Wednesday night around 9:45. Your name is Kasper, but your real name is Leon. You were cute and funny. I can’t believe I got on the bus without us exchanging numbers.. I hope to meet you again some day!
