Overlooked: The Best Missed Connections of the Week

Every Friday, for some fun reading, we bring you the area’s best Missed Connections on Craigslist.

By Jessica Sidman   Published Friday, July 10, 2009

Fireworks were everywhere this week, and not just the 4th of July kind. We’re talking about sparks of love, people. After all, what’s more romantic than our National Anthem and hoards of tourists on the Mall?

Hey, remember that? It was on the 4th of July, driving down Sudley Rd. away from Old Town and towards the Post Office. We were stuck in traffic, side-by-side, and you were rockin’ your head, and then I rocked my head and revved my engine in my kick-butt Toyota Camry? And then asked for your number? :-P

I truly did only ask you for the fun of it. And I’m interested in/pursuing a girl already, a great friend of mine, actually, so I really was just asking in a PLATONIC way.

If you see this, and if you wanna chat on the COMPUTER, my AIM is whothennow24. Or just reply to this and we can talk via e-mail.

My name’s Chris.

Skype is way sexier, Chris.

You- babe on bike riding down my street
Me- in my friend’s car being a creep

we passed you again on rhode island ave and I yelled out the window “BABE-RAHAM LINCOLN”, which I thought was hilarious, until my friend said “....he probably thought you were yelling Abraham Lincoln at him”

so no, I was not being patriotic on this fine 4th of july weekend by screaming out our 16th (8th?) president’s name at strangers, I just call them I like I see them.

let’s go eat mini veggie burgers with mini american flags on toothpicks

That might be the best DC pick-up line we’ve ever heard.

It was about 2:00 in the morning on the night of July fourth. I was a blonde guy wearing a blue t-shirt with jeans and white sneakers. You were a white girl with shoulder-length brown hair and was wearing a lovely sun dress that was sort of a cream color. As soon as I got off the train you slapped me as hard as you could across the left side of my face for no reason. I would like to meet you again and buy you a coffee.

Buy her a coffee and throw it in her face?

First I saw you at the swimming pool. Your pink one-piece revealing, your body incredible, your legs stretched long, your dark hair falling in curls past your shoulders.

And then later at the party, your white shorts tight, your pose there on the curb one full of intention. Cars driving by, where were they going? Later the fireworks filled the sky and we collected sparklers from the lawn. You knew I was looking directly with desire, you showed me what you knew I wanted to see.

Little chance of connecting, but it feels good to try.

This could be the beginning of a really bad erotica novel.

You and your girlfriend were buying “necessities” on July 4th around 11am at the Bull Run Shoppers. You were very cute and familiar to me....black hair....a bob style cut...maybe longer...your friend had her hair pulled back and it was a blondish to dirty blonde color. (she was very cute too) ...both in plaid shorts and dressed for a summer day

You bagged while she paid...I stood a couple customers back....we both stole a few glances at each other.....I watched as you walked out and tried to hurry up to try and catch you. I saw the two of you load up the Scion and drive off.......and disappointed.....could only hope our paths would cross again.

As I drove up Sudley Manor....just before my turn prior to the bridge.....I looked left and saw the two of you.....but I had just started my turn and again you slipped past me.

After the Signal Hill fireworks show.....I drove up Signal Hill Rd behind the Liberia Shoppers and as I passed by the houses who do I see.....its you in the street with your friends....running around....I could not stop though as traffic was being diverted that way and I had a train of cars following.

If you may have an idea what I look like....or who I am....please reply....would love to meet

Goodnight

Are you sure you weren’t just stalking them?
