Post Watch: "I Have to Tell You..."

Marvin Joseph, a veteran Post photographer, couldn’t resist. He and a friend were walking to the newsroom a few weeks back when he noticed an attractive young woman standing on the corner of 15th and L streets. As it was related to The Washingtonian, here is what happened: “That woman looks beautiful,” he told his friend. “I’m going to go over and tell her.” His friend advised against it. Joseph was determined. The friend peeled off. Joseph approached the woman. “Excuse me,” he said, “but I have to tell you that you are looking very beautiful.” She smiled politely, thanked him, and walked off—toward the Post. She entered the Post and presented her ID. He did the same. Joseph’s friend was waiting and stopped him as the woman walked toward the elevators. “That,” he said, “was Katharine Weymouth.” No word yet on whether Marvin Joseph has been offered a promotion or a buyout. Stay tuned for our profile of Katharine Weymouth, going online later today. More Post Watch More>> Capital Comment Blog | News & Politics | Society Photos
