Overlooked: The Best Missed Connections of the Week

Every Friday, for some fun reading, we bring you the area's best Missed Connections on Craigslist.

By Kellie Bramlet   Published Friday, July 25, 2008

So here’s the drill: Making eyes at a certain someone while waiting in line for tickets to “The Dark Knight”? Yeah, you and everyone else. But just in case you couldn’t muster the courage to get their name and number, there’s Craigslist’s Missed Connections, a kind of personals service that allows users to post about someone they recently met but aren’t sure how to contact. Who said there’s no such thing as second chances?

And without further ado here’s a look at five of the best, worst, most interesting and just plain funny of the Missed Connections from the DC area.

You stopped me, and I actually signed up. I thought you were cool, very cool.
I wanted to get your number. Walking away, I was really disappointed that I didn’t ask. As you can see, I’ve thought better of it.
Hope to hear from you.
* Location: Dupont

Sounds like someone’s got a minute for the environment.

We exchange smiles on the rare occasion that we see each other in the Starbucks on Rt. 7 next to Ethan Allen / Circuit City. You are adorable. Wish you weren’t always on your phone so we could talk!
* Location: Tyson’s Starbucks

Well, I guess nearly killing someone will get their attention, but honey, it probably won’t get you a date.

Your wisdom teeth - 27 (Hart building)

I’ve talked to you so many times, most recently about your wisdom teeth, and I don’t even know your name. We need to grab a drink sometime when we are both off work.
* Location: Hart building

Nothing says “Hey, you’re cute,” quite like a conversation about molar removal.

hope you made it home safe. thanks.
drop me an email if you want to bike in the sunshine sometime.
* Location: arlington

All together now: “Awwwww.”
