Every Friday, for some fun reading, we bring you the area’s best Missed Connections on Craigslist.

Looks like we’re not the only ones reading Missed Connections. Check out this CNN.com article that takes a look at our favorite Craigslist phenomenon. It even includes a success story or two—so there is hope!

When Newspaper Machines Attack - m4w (DC)

You almost fell I caught your arm. A newspaper machine crushed your leg I held your hand. We were drunk and talked about how we missed each other and haven’t spoken since.

I would love to see this drunken-mess-of-a-situation go down.

To the Woman With the Heart of a Lion - 42 (Near the White House)

We need you to keep standing for what is right, for what makes me want to strive for the best, for those simple goals the lovers of our country endorsed long ago: the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Even in the end if we miss you and choose another, you will have made us the better for your courage in the face of the proud and their slings and arrows.

Dear Governor, shine on.

To the 21 year old girl I used to date at tysons - m4w - 21 (mclean)

Now, this is a few weeks late, maybe 2 or 3, but it’s still worth dangling my feet in the water, maybe you’ll see it.

You came into the store I work at in tysons and our eyes met. As I was working at the door, it was my job to say hi to everyone who came in. You and your 54 year old father were no exception.

You shopped for a bit, and I thought it was funny. I didn’t realize you were upstate now and it had been years since we last saw each other and even longer since we “dated” over the summer in middle school. But time goes on.

As you got into line with the older gentleman I still chuckled a bit at the coincidence. But then you two got closer. And closer. And closer. And then you put your arms around him. And got closer. And closer. And closer still.

And then I realized he wasn’t your father. He was your sugar daddy. Your 30 year older partner.

I hope the skirt was worth it.

Wow, this story is intense. I like how we start out thinking the old guy is her dad, then gradually find out the truth. Nice work.

LOVE OF MY LIFE - m4w - 26 (Sterling)

My girlfriend lives in sterling, but I don’t get to see her very often because I live in newport news. But I want her to know she means the world to me and I’m deeply in love with her.

You know that since she is your girlfriend, it would be perfectly acceptable to pick up the phone and call, right?

Adorable guy crying and carrying a pumpkin (Oct 21) - m4m - 25 (Logan)

I have to admit, I followed you a bit (as weird as that sounds). But I’ve never seen such a masculine looking guy with tears in his eyes in such a random way. You weren’t really crying outwardly... Clearly you had a lot on your mind and it busted out in the form of a few tears. You probably couldn’t wipe them away from onlookers because you had your hands full with bags and a pumpkin!? (which of course intrigued me more). But that didn’t stop you, you just pushed on like a trooper, oblivious to everyone you passed. It was as though you were on a doomed mission or something. You were so cute and pitiful looking I just wanted to give you a huge hug. What was the deal with the pumpkin you were carrying?? You ended up going into Logan Circle and I turned around because I thought I was being creepy. If you need a hug or a shoulder to lean your head on.... don’t worry, not to sound cocky, but I think I’m in your league in terms of attractiveness. And you clearly have a heart which is so rare in this city and I find that so sexy. Even if your not interested, I really hope you get through whatever is pulling on your heart. Remember, all things pass.

Awww, poor guy. And what’s wrong with carrying around pumpkins? Halloween is coming up!
