Sarah Palin will make her first solo Northern Virginia appearance this morning in Leesburg. Meanwhile, polls show Obama with a (surprising) 8-point lead in Virginia.
All about the Metro? You may want to read this column by DCist's Ryan Avent on a possible Purple Line. We Love DC gives a mixed review to Logan Circle's new spot, Commissary. In summertime, are you a fan of the Shakespeare Theatre's Free For All performances in Carter Barron? Well, next summer, they'll be moved indoors. We're kinda bummed, personally. WashCycle reports that "America's Stupidest Bike Lane" is being redesigned.

Gone are the robust bureaus for the Los Angeles Times, Newhouse News, and other once-healthy news organizations. Digital media bureaus now are taking their places with as many reporters and plenty of swagger.
