Winter Restaurant Week Is Upon Us!

By Kate Nerenberg   Published Wednesday, January 21, 2009

We just got word that the winter installment of Restaurant Week will run from Monday, February 16 through Sunday, February 22. Reservations for inauguration weekend might have been easier to get than we thought, but don't count on the same spotty attendance for this wildly popular promotion.

Participating restaurants in DC and Virginia offer three-course lunches for $20.09 and three-course dinners for $35.09. That's a good deal at many top restaurants, but this year's list includes some especially high-priced, special-occasion-only places: Adour (where dishes can top $40), 1789, Charlie Palmer Steak, Farrah Olivia, Taberna del Alabardero, Oceanaire, Vidalia, and Volt.

Adour not only did resturant week (absolutewly fABULOUS!), they are also continuing w/ a prex fixe lunch, at least thru March 2009. Highly recommended...

I just called to make a reservation at Adour for lunch on February 20th, during restaurant week. The hostess told me they are never opened for lunch, first of all. Secondly, they are not participating in restaurant week.
