Despite the incessant rain and thunderstorms, it’s June, which means we’ve started dreaming of hot summer days on the beach. We want you to tell us where to eat at popular sand-and-surf destinations, such as Rehoboth and Bethany beaches, the Eastern Shore, and the Outer Banks. What are some of your favorite places to hit for a post-body-surfing bite, a boardwalk snack, or a crab feast? Are there any good eats on the way to your vacation destination? For fine dining - I really enjoyed Galaxy, one of the best Cowboy Ribeyes I’ve ever had. Great bargain at lunch - Lobster Club, worth the trip.
For Crabs - just opened Old Mill Restaurant - took the place of the huge Dough Roller on 125th St.One of the former locations in Delaware burned down many years ago, this is its reincarnation. Best Deal - AYCE Crabs & Fried Chicken. We had a dozen XL crabs for around $50/doz - very heavy, better than expected for this early in the season. Crabs were from Crisfield MD.
Also very good crab spots - newly remodeled Crab Bag and Bahama Mamas( just moved into the old Higgins spot) look for the neon painted benches outside, cant miss it.
As another mentioned, Cottage Cafe is always a regular stop, best for Lunch. Fiery Fingers - really fresh chicken makes all the difference. Good sandwiches, reasonably priced.
Early morning - if you haven’t tried the donuts at Fractured Prune, put this high on your list. 28th St Plaza & 127th St next to Ledo’s Pizza.
Made fresh , still warm, dipped in variety of flavored glazes with many toppings. You’ ll go back again & again.
On the boardwalk, Kohr Bros for frozen custard. of course, Thrashers for unbelievably good fries, its the peanut oil used for frying, must have vinegar on these for the true flavor. Sleeper - try the Wrapper - all sorts of things wrapped up in pretzel dough and baked. various sausages, chicken, gyro, pepperoni, the list goes on. very good when fresh out of the oven. easy to munch on as you continue strolling down the boardwalk.
As turnover at resort restaurants is high, ther is always a degree of unpredictability from year to year. but that’s part of the fun, the uncertainty. there’s plenty of hidden trasures waiting to be discovered.

Cottage Cafe in Bethany Beach DE, its like being at grandmas kitchen table. On the higher end, Tutti Gusti in Ocean City, MD. All menu items are made from scratch daily.

Sharkey’s is a little sandwich hut on a corner in Dewey Beach with some seriously good soft-serve ice cream. Pig & Fish and Dogfish Head in Rehoboth are great. Of course Grotto Pizza is a must visit.
