Oxo's corn stripper takes the mess out of many a summer dish.
Stripping corn from the cob is such a messy task that we seldom bother. The kernels go scattering across the countertop, and we’re tempted to ditch the idea of a sweet-corn succotash or chowder and just steam the cobs whole. That was before we found the Oxo corn stripper, which resembles a handheld pencil sharpener. It easily zips down the side of the cob, taking the kernels with it and locking them in a plastic chamber. It also has a half-cup demarcation so you can measure and tip the corn right into the pot or pan.
This appears in the August, 2009 issue of The Washingtonian. More>> Best Bites Blog | Food & Dining | Restaurant Finder Follow the Best Bites Bloggers on Twitter at twitter.com/bestbitesblog

Finally! I actually have a corn stripper, but anything made by OXO will always be easier and more comfortable to use.
