The Pizza Pool: Moroni & Brother's vs. Posto

UPDATE: This contest is closed. Posto won!

Who makes the best pizza in Washington? You tell us! We're asking you to vote in the first Washingtonian.com Pizza Pool, a brackets-style contest that will narrow 32 pizzas to one winner. For a refresher on how the brackets will work, head here.

To see today's match up, check below.

Moroni & Brother's: Owners Jose and Reyna Velasquez, who worked at Pizzeria Paradiso, serve up delicious wood-fired pizzas and simple Salvadoran cooking in a neighborhood spot as homey and comfortable as the food.

Posto: Chef Massimo Fabbri still uses the dough recipe he learned in culinary school 16 years ago, and for good reason: The wood-fired pizzas at this Logan Circle trattoria have a crisp underside and a soft, bubbled rim.

Did you know? If you click the links of each of those restaurants' names, you can leave your own review of their pizza at that page!

This poll will stay open until noon on Wednesday.

*To help keep this contest fair, we've elected to use an IP address-based poll. This means that if you are voting from an office or network setting, not everybody will be able to vote. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we hope you'll encourage coworkers to vote from their home computers.

Really, Angie? Have you ever been to Italy and eaten real Italian pizza??? Somehow, I doubt it. Because if you had, I don’t think that you’d have that opinion of Posto’s pizza. True, authentic Italian pizza is meant to be very thin and crispy while still a little bit doughy, and the folks at Posto have perfected their pizza to an art form. It’s delicious! And Posto deserves to win the Pizza Pool hands down!

Who ever is voting for Posto has obviously never EVER had their pizza. I love their pastas but their pizza is worse than Dominos (week old Domino’s in fact). I would vote for Totinos before I ever voted for Posto in a pizza contest. It sadly, but truly really is THAT bad. (So sorry Posto, keep up the good work on the pastas though!)
