Who makes the best pizza in Washington? You tell us!

UPDATE: This poll is closed; Ella's won!
Who makes the best pizza in Washington? You tell us! We're asking you to vote in the first Washingtonian.com Pizza Pool, a brackets-style contest that will narrow 32 pizzas to one winner. For a refresher on how the brackets will work, head here.
Pizzeria Paradiso: Stick with what comes out of the wood oven at this long-standing area pizza fave. Our favorites are the Atomica, with salami and hot-pepper flakes, and the simple Margherita, which lets the pizza's elemental ingredients shine.
Ella's Wood Fired Pizza: Nearly 20 wood-fired pies are offered on this Penn Quarter spot's menu, including specialty combos such as the Lombardi (caramelized onions, gorgonzola, and rosemary) and the Polpotini (meatballs, leeks, and parmesan).
Did you know? If you click the links of each of the restaurants' names, you can leave your own review of their pizza at that page!
This poll will stay open until noon on Friday.
*To help keep this contest fair, we've elected to use an IP address-based poll. This means that if you are voting from an office or network setting, not everybody will be able to vote. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we hope you'll encourage coworkers to vote from their home computers.

Liberty Tavern should be on this list!

we’re talking pizza here right? I live near Georgetown and was so excited to have Pizzaria Paradiso move in a couple of years ago. It certainly deserves the recognition it gets - it’s been around forever, put handcrafted pizza on washington’s food map, and for being a great place to gather - especially for beer. I used to think they were the top until I tried their pizza recently, and realized it has lost its character. The crust was cardboard, the choices were limited and the flavors were just ho-hum. I work over near Ella’s and have come on many occasion for happy hour (who can beat a $5 pizza!) and always find myself satisfied and wanting to come back. The pizzas are full of flavor, there are many to choose from, the service is great, and most importantly they are consistent. Sorry Paradiso, you win my heart for your great beer list, but I just won’t be ordering pizza there anymore.
Since this is a pizza contest, Ella’s gets my vote!

Ella’s is the best EVER. It is the unicorn of pizza places. If a rainbow and a tomato were to mate they would make an Ella’s pizza. And I cannot stress this next point enough... hot, hot staff... hot.

Absolutely every dish I’ve tried at Ella’s has clearly shown delecate and detailed attention to every ingredient and flavor. There is no other way to describe the amazing creations that come out of that kitchen except for incredibly delicious! Talk about a menu to write home about, this place is a true gem of DC. Not to mention, the atmosphere is just as comfortably perfect as the food.

Technically, all polls are populist. That’s kinda the point. Just saying.

This populist pizza matchup is populist and utterly bogus. People in DC have a ridiculous loyalty to mediocre pizza joints, and they allow the inconvenience of the line at Paradiso to color their opinions. Pizza in itself is hand-down better. Ellqs can’t even dish out the right amount of sauce on a plain pizza.

The meatballs at Ella’s are AMAZING, whether eaten on a pizza, with spaghetti or if you just order a side of meatballs! They also have lots of good veggie options and lots of good things besides pizza. Their fried mozzerella is literally the best I’ve ever had in my life. They use a blend of ricotta, fresh mozzerella and parmesan.
