We're onto the third round in our Pizza Pool! Vote today on who you think makes the best pizza in Washington.

UPDATE: This poll is now closed; RedRocks won!
Well, folks, we've made it even further on figuring out the best pizza in Washington! We're on to the Edible Eight of our Washingtonian.com Pizza Pool. Pete's New Haven Style Apizza eked out a win over Posto, and Ella's advanced over Radius. For a refresher on how the brackets will work, head here.
RedRocks Pizzeria: This Columbia Heights pizzeria's Neapolitan-style pies are cooked at 750 to 900 degrees in a wood-burning, dome-shaped brick oven. Toppings—such as San Marzano tomatoes, arugula, capers, buffalo mozzarella, and Sicilian oregano—keep with the Italian vibe.
Tony's NY Pizza: It may be in a strip mall, but Tony’s NY Pizza lives up to its name. The D’Agostino family conjures memories of Broadway pizza haunts with jumbo triangles sporting a delicately browned crust.
This poll will stay open until noon on Wednesday.
*To help keep this contest fair, we've elected to use an IP address-based poll. This means that if you are voting from an office or network setting, not everybody will be able to vote. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we hope you'll encourage coworkers to vote from their home computers.

Just to be fair, myself, I want to point out that I don’t have a dog in this fight, because I’ve never eaten pizza at either place -- and I didn’t vote in this contest, either.
That said, I believe this contest became unfair, because the DC Councilmember who represents Ward 1 (Jim Graham) wrote on a local Yahoo group in DC (the Adams Morgan listserv) begging people to vote for Red Rocks.
Politicians need to stay out of a vote for best pizza place! I’ll bet a bunch of folks who voted only did so because Jim Graham asked them to.

My wife and I only eat RRs. To say it is the "best" is a misnomer. It is the only edible pizza in the city and it is delicious. For the typical American palette used to thick, cheesy , tasteless pizza - eat elsewhere. Pepperoni is our top pick at RRs.
Comparable to pizza is in Vernazza, Italy.

Red Rocks is off the beaten path by a couple blocks but so worth the walk. The pizza is great - individual size servings with carefully prepared ingredients (oh, the salsiccia) - but one of the other advantages of this place is the lovely atmosphere. Exposed brick, dim lighting, a great little bar, historic neighborhood photos on the walls. Just a gem.

I’ve been going to red rocks since they opened. There were some quality issues at first but I have to say that two years in the pizza is the best it’s ever been.

Last I checked this evening, the RedRocks patio was full; not sure "whaaat" crack "whaaat" is smoking. RedRocks is open and the quality of pies has never been better.

seriously? I’ve never been to Tony’s, but RedRocks is greasy cardboard nastiness. Not to mention closed due to liquor violations.
I voted for RedRocks, even though I haven’t been there in a while and reliable sources say it’s gone down hill. Tony’s is not good.
