Chew on This: Your Best Summer Dish

What was the best thing you ate all summer?

By Kate Nerenberg

Labor Day—the unofficial end of summer—is just six days away, so it got us thinking about all the great things we’ve eaten over the last couple of months. Next week, we’ll let you know what our favorite summer eats were, but first we need your input. What restaurant dish made you want to come back every day to order it again and again? Did you have a particularly refreshing salad? A heat-beating cold soup? A delicious dessert made with impossibly sweet peaches? In the comments, tell us your favorite dish from this summer.

I loved the white gazpacho at Bourbon Steak!

To C Cooper: I loved that dish, too! So incredibly refreshing! I didn’t want it to end...hopefully they’ll have something just as wonderful to replace it.

I can’t vouch for how summery it is, but I certainly had one meal that I have relentlessly talked about since June.

I ordered something randomly at DC Noodle Company (near 14th and U Streets) and ended up with the most delicious spinach linguine with chicken and pumpkin pieces in coconut curry.

I think this will also be a really great Fall dish!

I absolutely love "two cool dips" from Jackson’s. One is ball of guacamole and the other is a cheese ball. This app kept me coming back for more, despite the fact that the cheese ball has cottage cheese (which I normally can’t stand). Definitely refreshing to sit out on the patio and share with friends.
