Oktoberfest dinners, all-you-can-eat lobster, a meat roasting class and more!

Monday September 21
Pizzeria Paradiso hosts a Victory Brewing Oktoberfest beer dinner. Victory Brewmaster Bill Covaleski, trained in the festival’s motherland of Germany, will preside over the four-course, six-beer meal. Thirsty diners have already filled up the 6:30 reservation slot, but, if you hurry, seats for the 9 session—$65 per person, including tax and gratuity—are still available. Tuesday September 22
Summer might be over, but a lobster boil at the Argonaut keeps the spirit alive.  $45 gets you all you can eat (lobster) and drink (bottomless Allagash beer) from 7 to 10. Email argonautdc@gmail.com for reservations. 
 

Wednesday September 21 through Sunday, September 27
Bethesda Row celebrates its own version of Restaurant Week through Sunday.  If you missed the official promotion earlier this summer, head to this downtown Bethesda street mall for $12 lunches and $30 dinners at restaurants such as Raku, Redwood, and Lebanese Taverna. Thursday September 24

Chef Geoff’s New Mexico Avenue location hosts a five-course Cava wine dinner. Featured speaker Marc Clapés Puig presides over the evening, which includes pairings of the Spanish bubbly with tapas and lobster and pork dishes.  The dinner, $69 per person, begins at 7. Click here for more.

Friday September 25

Learn to carry one roast chicken through an entire week’s worth of meals in the “Art of Leftovers” class at Sur la Table.  Instructor Angie Lee leads the hands-on session, which features a menu filled with chowder, pita pockets, and Vietnamese summer rolls.  The class, $45 per person, begins at 11:30 AM. Saturday September 26

Pick up a new party trick at Dupont Circle wine bar Veritas (2031 Florida Ave., NW), where experts will lead you through a blind wine tasting and discuss how they identify different grapes. The tasting, $40 per person, runs from  5 to 7. Click here for tickets.  

Sunday September 27

Get ready for chillier weather with a roasting class at Hill’s Kitchen (713 D St., SE). The two-hour demo class will cover slow-cook ing chicken, lamb leg, and pork loin, plus seasoning, resting times, and oven temperatures.  The class, $55 per person, runs from 3 to 5. Email events@hillskitchen.com to reserve a spot.  

Get in on the Washington War of the Wings, J. Paul’s Tom Crenshaw battles it out against defending champ Rich Brooks of Old Glory. Tickets to the competition—good for all-you-can-eat wings and two drinks—are $20 in advance, $30 at the door, and benefit the DC Firefighters Burn Foundation. It runs from 1 to 4:50 at the corner of M Street and Wisconsin Avenue, Northwest.
