Tell me about your personal style.
“I’m very diverse with my look. My friends can never figure me out. It just depends on my mood. I can pull off the hipster look because I’m slim.”

You’re so skinny. I’m totally jealous.
“Stop! I’m trying so hard to put on weight.”

What are some of the big spring trends for men?
“Leather, faux leather, and woven plaid shirts. Fedoras continue to be big, as well as above-the-knee shorts. In our store, we’re seeing a lot of citrus colors such as lime and bright yellow.”

So the Georgetown location stocks different stuff?
“Right. Boat shoes are hot for spring, so we have those here because we have preppy customers. The Chinatown location has more urban customers, so it carries Nike Dunks. That store is similar to the Baltimore demographic. We also have hipster customers at this location, as does Tysons.”

That’s so interesting. So what’s on your personal wish list for spring?
“I want a lightweight peacoat with a collar and belt. And I’m a big scarf freak—I just bought a black knit ring scarf.”

Any style advice for the guys?
“Fit. It’s the first thing I notice when I’m walking down the street. Guys can take their everyday stuff, not just suits, and adjust the fit to make a big difference.”

Where do you shop?
“Barneys Co-Op, Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s, and Zara—it caters really well to a slender figure. I like Kenneth Cole Collection and Aldo Collection shoes, which you can find online. I go to Off Saks and Neiman Marcus Last Call for bargains.”

Rachel says: Guys ask me a lot about jeans, and I think classic Levi’s always look great and are pretty affordable. No designs on the butt, please! I love these shoes—they’ve got a great rough-and-tumble look that’s very masculine while showing off some personality. Check out this U Roads line—the shoes are made from recycled materials and the spring collection is loaded with boots and casual shoes with interesting details.
