Assistant to the Chairman, SVP France What she’s wearing: Sonia Rykiel pants, Insight top, March Jacobs bag, Dior shoes, and a Montblanc men’s watch. Tell us about your style. “I like to be a bit rock and roll. What Madonna did in Like a Virgin.” What are your favorite brands? What’s big in Paris? “I like Chloe, Stella McCartney, Martin Margiela... Balenciaga. We love Vuitton in Paris. And Dior. Dior forever! Yves St. Laurent Rive Gauche. Cheap Monday jeans.” What do you think of style here? “I think you’re missing some good buyers. I went to Georgetown and... there wasn’t the selection. But I have had people stopping me—‘where did you get that, what is that’—so there is interest. People can afford it.”
What is it about French style? “Androgynous—we love this kind of attitude. We see a person on the street and have to do like [pulls down her glasses] to see if it’s a man or a woman! It is very minimalist.”
What are you going to do while you’re here? “I’m going to Seneca Rocks [West Virginia] and Great Falls. I’m a rock climber.”
What is on your wish list? “Chanel jewelry and anything from Paule Ka. So elegant.”
Rachel Says: Just when I’m loving color again, I’m reminded why black and white will always be chic and timeless. Adding a minimalist accessory or borrowing looks from your boyfriend’s closet are easy ways to come closer to achieving that elusive je ne sais quoi. I love an oversize man’s watch, and this leather bow-tie cuff from etsy shop ThreeHorses is both streamlined and sweet.

I think the bag is "Marc" by Marc Jacobs, not March Jacobs.
