Yummy, Yummie

Fashion’s Night Out
Tonight in New York City, all fashionistas are taking to the streets in a guerilla marketing campaign to get people back into stores and stimulate the economy. It’s sponsored by the American icons of fashion: Vogue magazine and  its editor, Anna Wintour. To celebrate, all Washington Neiman Marcus stores are throwing a nightlong party. From 6 to 9, hit the Mazza Gallerie location, where you’ll find DJs, giveaways, chef demos, cocktail samples, and tons of great chances to win swag. The event is open to the public, but RSVPs are strongly suggested; call 202-274-3911.

Mid-City Party
Boutiques in DC’s U Street corridor are joining in the hubbub surrounding Fashion’s Night Out by keeping their doors open until 11. Cosponsored by the Greater Washington Fashion Chamber of Commerce, the event allows you to browse shops including Redeem, Muléh, Rue 14, Treasury, Palace 5, Dekka, Stem, Junction, Lettie Gooch, and Caramel.

Magic Fashion
Designer Hayley Starr is famous for her “magic dress,” a unique creation that can be worn in a number of configurations. Who doesn’t love a fashionable and recession-friendly dress? Peruse Starr’s collection, which runs in sizes 0 to 16, at Wink Thursday evening. 6:30 to 8:30. RSVP to hayleystarr@thepattongroupinc.com.

Super Sangaree
The chic Georgetown boutique Sangaree is celebrating the arrival of fall with an exclusive fashion preview. See the newest arrivals and snag an exclusive 20 percent off on names such as Dilbar, Ports 1961, and Elizabeth + James during the event. 6 to 9.

Massage for a Cure

This is a reminder to book for an event on Tuesday, September 15—it’ll fill fast, so we’re telling you early. All 13 Washington Massage Envy locations are offering $35 one-hour appointments for one day only in support of the Susan G. Komen foundation. Ten dollars from each massage will be donated to the cause.

Signature Style
See the work of local jewelry designer Megan Kurtz of ADMK at an exclusive fall trunk show at the U Street boutique Caramel. Her classic pieces are all less than $200, and many are less than $50. Trunk-show shoppers receive 10 percent off and are automatically entered to win a free pair of earrings. 2 to 6.

Stay Soma-Fit
If you’re not sure you want to shell out for a gym membership but you’re looking to shape up, SomaFit’s fall health fair and open house is the perfect trial run. From 9 to 6, guests will enjoy free Pilates, yoga, and group fitness classes as well as personal-training sessions, seated massage therapy, skin-care demos, swag bags, and snacks.
