Georgetown boutique Fresh sponsored a Sex and the City 2 premiere party at the Georgetown Ritz-Carlton—and we stopped by to snap a fashionable attendee.
What she’s wearing: “The hat is a vintage turban-style piece that I recently purchased online. It didn’t come with a label, but I am sure the woman who wore it before me did it justice. The dress is from H&M—I purchased it because it had an Art Deco feel to it. I threw on a long string of freshwater pearls from Eastern Market and the second set of pearls just for fun. The green clip-ons I got out of a discount bin from the Remix on Capitol Hill before it closed earlier this year. The leopard-print shoes are Jessica Simpson. She may not know chicken from fish, but she can occasionally produce a cute pair of shoes.”
Did you realize that your hat is similar to the hats the flight attendants in the SATC2 movie wore? “I had no idea! But how cool. I love all fine hats, but vintage hats appeal to me more because they tell a story of different era. I wear hats that help me tell my story, who I am and what I am feeling at the moment, but every now and again a hat beckons me to tell its story The moment I saw this particular hat, it called to me and I knew that it would find a home in my collection. The color, the pin, the structure made it irresistible!”
Describe your style. “That’s a difficult question, as I am evolving and fine-tuning my style. But if I had to put it in the terms of Sex and the City lingo, I would have to say I am the perfect blend of Carrie and Charlotte.”
You’re petite. Where do you like to shop? “I shop at Etsy.com because you can find items from all over the world in one location. But when I want extra-special attention, I visit my dear friend and personal shopper, Uesa Robinson, owner of Uesa Goods on Capitol Hill.”
>> Rachel says: A hat is an instant conversation starter. Scoop one up at a local vintage store (Annie Creamcheese and Treasury are good bets) or scout online at Etsy.com or eBay.

Really like the dress - very Jackie O and the leopard skin shoes (can’t go wrong with animal print heels).
