Friday, August 1: Our favorite Dupont Circle consignment shop, the fabulously well-stocked Secondi, kicks off their summer sale today. Great secondhand finds at even-more-affordable-than-usual prices? We’ll definitely be showing up early.

Saturday, August 2 and Sunday, August 3: The lengthening list of Midcity boutiques—that’s 7th through 17th streets, between P and W—is hosting their annual Dog Days of Summer neighborhood sidewalk sale this weekend. We’ve got the following hotspots highlighted on our shopping plan:

• In addition to 75 percent off all spring and summer merchandise, the chic Caramel will hold trunk shows on Saturday from 10am to 7pm for local labels L~Shandi (we love the line’s vintage-inspired dresses) and Even Keel (whose extra-comfy yoga wear is a eco-friendly must). Both brands will offer one-on-one consultations and up to 40 percent off their wares.

• Super-chic home emporium RCKNDY is selling off much of their floor model furniture—including sleeper sofas, bookcases, and dining tables—at major discounts, in addition to up to 80 percent off decorative accents like pillows, rugs, frames, and more. Doors open at 9:30 AM Saturday and 10 AM Sunday and it’s strictly first-come, first-served.

• The always adorable Nana is also offering major markdowns on all spring and summer merchandise, including 40 percent off Preloved, 60 percent off Beatrice Holloway, and 30 percent off select Hobo International bags. In addition, they’re planning to offer a sneak preview of Hobo’s upcoming fall collection.

Saturday, August 2 through Sunday, August 10: If there’s one thing that’s better than a sale, it’s a tax-free sale! All this week, the DC government is offering its annual Sales Tax Holiday, where all clothing, accessories, shoes, and back-to-school items under $100 each will be exempt from the usual 5.75 percent sales tax.
