Ever get a gift card you won’t use? So have other people. Web sites such as Swapagift.com, Plasticjungle.com, and Giftcardsagain.com sell unwanted gift cards at a discount. Some cards are marked down just a few dollars; others are available for trades only. You can find deals, especially on higher-value cards. Recent offers included a gift card worth $100 at Fleet Feet for $75, a $1,000 Banana Republic card for $800, and a $300 Bloomingdale’s card for $270. Depending on the site, you buy directly from an individual or from the company that runs the site; in either case, the company verifies the card balance before the sale occurs. Shipping and any fees are charged to the seller.
