Thursday, October 16: Shop for a good cause! From 5 to 8 PM, Urban Chic will be holding its third annual Pink Is the New Black breast-cancer-awareness benefit. Enjoy 20 percent off new merchandise as well as complimentary drinks and snacks at both the Georgetown and Bethesda locations. Saturday, October 18: From 12 to 6, visit the boutique Caramel for a Ruth Barzel Jewelry Design trunk show where Barzel’s delicately beaded mixed-metal pieces will be up to half off. Saturday, October 18: From 10 to 8, donate your gently worn suits and blouses to Dress for Success—a nonprofit that helps women enter the work force with style and confidence—and receive 15 percent off your Theory purchase for the day at the Chevy Chase Bloomingdale’s. Sunday, October 19: Wink, a trendy Georgetown boutique, is holding a fundraiser from noon to 6 for Bricks + Books, an organization that works to build schools and empower women in Tanzania. Sunday, October 19: Just a reminder, the Georgetown Flea Market has made its grand return to Georgetown in the newly renovated Hardy Middle School. Around 50 vendors sell a wide variety of vintage and antique wares—from clothing and jewelry to books and furniture—on Sundays from 8 to 4. For those who love shopping at the Arlington location, don’t worry—that location will still be open on Saturdays (9 to 4) and Sundays (8 to 4); www.georgetownfleamarket.com.
