Bridal Party Chat: You’re Invited!

Wedding calligrapher Itsy Kliman will host a Q&A with readers.

Judging by the number of workshops Paper Source holds on wedding invitations, what sounds like a simple card and envelope is actually kind of a big deal. The store, though, makes you spend $55 to get its expertise; here, you can get invitation tips for free—plus advice on place cards, save-the-dates, and more. Itsy Kliman, a popular local wedding calligrapher, will be here Thursday at 11 AM to take your questions.

About 25 years ago, Itsy started Greenbelt-based Calligraphy by Itsy because, well, she loved calligraphy, and she wanted other people to love it, too. Business took off, and now she’s busy doing invitations, menu designs, place cards, poems, banners . . . you name it, she’ll put it to script. (Calligraphy by Itsy doesn’t have a Web site, but couples interested in her services can call 301-345-3945.)

Itsy is the mother of Washingtonian food and wine editor Todd Kliman, who does our weekly dining Q&A, so she should be a natural at this chat thing. If you have a question now, submit it early and then check back Thursday to follow along with the chat or ask something else. Otherwise, read the transcript that will be posted after Itsy is done.

Read transcripts from past chats with florists, wedding planners, and more.
