Bluebrain (and Friends) to Take Over NYC

Group organizes weekend road trip to unveils the band’s new Central Park app

Washingtonians can join Bluebrain this weekend on a trip to New York City.

Still no solid weekend plans? Bluebrain, the DC-based experimental music duo, has a few seats left on its Listen to the Light trip to New York this weekend. Creator of a unique, location-based listening experience, Bluebrain’s following up its interactive National Mall album (released earlier this year) with a Central Park iPhone app that uses GPS to track your location and provide you with a site-specific soundtrack designed to complement certain surroundings. (They’ve created a short documentary on the making of their new album that you can view here.)

Curious? The Bluebrain bus leaves at 10 AM Saturday morning from Dupont Circle and arrives in Central Park at 3 PM. Food and drink will be provided by Sweetgreen and DC Brau. Entertainment will be courtesy of your fascinating fellow bus riders, obviously. From 3 PM to 6 PM, attendees can experience the new Bluebrain album in Central Park, before more festivities at the Dorian Grey Gallery and Lit Lounge on the Lower East Side. The bus departs for DC at noon the next day. Tickets are $42, and accommodation isn’t provided, so time to make nice with that obnoxious college roommate (we can also recommend Tablet for last-minute hotel deals).
