Elliott Yamin, an American Idol alum, will perform at the Birchmere on Wednesday, September 14. Tickets ($33.75) go on sale Friday at 12 PM through Ticketmaster.

The west coast folk band Fleet Foxes heads east for a stop at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia on Friday, September 23. They’re on tour to promote their most recent album, Helplessness Blues. The Walkmen will be the opening act. Tickets ($25 to $40) go on sale Friday at 10 AM through Ticketfly.

Top gospel choirs and celebrities will come together for How Sweet the Sound at the Verizon Center on Wednesday, September 21. Choirs from New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and New Jersey will battle it out in the search for the best choir in the nation. Tickets ($11 to $16) go on sale Friday at 10 AM through Ticketmaster.

DC-based rock band Junior League is coming to the 9:30 Club Saturday, August 13 with Kingsley Flood as its opening act. Tickets ($15) go on sale at 10 AM today through Ticketfly.
