The Hot Ticket: Your Guide to Events on Sale

Here’s your Hot Ticket, a guide every Tuesday to concert tickets going on sale in the days ahead. Read on for this week’s heads-ups.

I’m betting that the most-fun concert of the summer will be the True Colors Tour, coming to Merriweather Post Pavilion June 17. The tour is headlined by ’80s icon Cyndi Lauper and features a ton of other acts, from ’80s throwbacks to contemporary musicians making their mark—all of them a blast to watch live. The tour includes Erasure, Deborah Harry, the Dresden Dolls, the Gossip, and Rufus Wainwright, and it benefits the Human Rights Campaign. Tickets officially go on sale this Friday, though there is a presale for HRC members. $41–$126.

For a mellower but no less entertaining event at Merriweather, try the Capital Jazz Festival May 30 through June 3. Scheduled to appear are Isaac Hayes, Anita Baker, Gerald Albright, and many more. Tickets ($30–$90) go on sale this Friday at 10 am.

Clientele brings their lush, retro-style pop to the Black Cat Tuesday, May 8. I’ve caught them live a couple of times, and seeing them is like being transported back to see a pop band straight out of the ’60s. Tickets ($13) go on sale this Friday on Ticketmaster (but the listing’s not up yet, so keep your eye out).

Let your inner child loose at the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, which comes to the Verizon Center March 22 through March 25. Tickets ($14–$85) are on sale now
