Our Pick for the Week: Patriotic Jell-O Wrestling

Tuesday, July 3: On the eve of the Fourth, you may be looking for something to do to celebrate this fine country of ours. And what could be more all-American than . . . female Jell-O wrestling? All right, I’m not sure if it’s patriotic, but it’ll definitely be a heck of a good time. The Adams Morgan bar Asylum (2471 18th St., NW; 202-319-9353) hosts the Star-Spangled Slam-Her, in which wrestling contestants vie for $500 in cash prizes. To participate, ladies need to sport a costume of a wrestling persona based on a patriotic character or theme. God bless America. 7 pm.

There's more going on this week, including fireworks, of course (and our recommendations on where to watch them), a minor league baseball game, and a pub crawl. Check out Where & When Weekly for the details.
