$1 Movie Night at the Drafthouse, a Q&A session with the controversial Emily Gould, and some good ol' Samurai fun!

Monday: Wonderland
Tim Burton’s re-imagining of Alice in Wonderland, starring Johnny Depp and Mia Wasikowska, shows at 7:30 at the Arlington Cinema ’n’ Drafthouse as part of the theater’s $1 Movie Night series. Showing later is the Jennifer Aniston/Gerard Butler vehicle Bounty Hunters.

Tuesday: The Heart Says Whatever
Former Gawker writer Emily Gould stops by the Sixth & I Historic Synagogue to promote her latest book, And the Heart Says Whatever. Hana Rosin, founding editor of the blog DoubleX, will interview Gould. To purchase tickets ($8 in advance, $10 at the door), click here.

Wednesday: Samurai Fun
The Japan Information & Cultural Center hosts a free screening of the Akira Kurosawa Samurai classic Yojimbo at 6:30. Reservations are required; call 202-238-6949 or e-mail jiccrsvp@embjapan.org.

Thursday: Around the World
Passport DC, the annual event when embassies open their doors to visitors, is extending through the rest of the month. Check out the Web site for information about specific events happening this weekend.
